Meta Expands Capabilities for Muse AI Agent
Meta is expanding the capabilities of its personal artificial intelligence agent, Muse, according to a report by TechCrunch from the annual Connect event in Menlo Park. CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang detailed new features designed to integrate the agent more deeply into consumer and enterprise workflows.
Powered by the Muse Spark multimodal model, the agent is engineered to handle everyday tasks by connecting to applications such as email and calendars. Among the announcements is a new real-time video avatar feature, named Jolly, which allows users to interact face-to-face with a visual representation of their AI helper. Meta also plans to bring Muse to Mac desktop computers, enabling the software to operate third-party applications and execute background tasks similar to competing agentic products from OpenAI and Anthropic.
Additionally, Meta announced plans to integrate Muse with its line of smart glasses, allowing wearers to issue voice commands for tasks like scheduling and product purchases. The company intends to offer Muse for free up to a high token threshold, with plans to monetize the service eventually through transaction fees.
