US and UK Form Alliance Against Global Crypto Scam Centers

According to the Daily Hodl, the United States and the United Kingdom have formed a bilateral alliance designed to dismantle global scam centers tied to cryptocurrency fraud. The Department of Justice announced that American and British authorities are joining forces to crack down on international operations accused of defrauding citizens through digital asset schemes.

The US Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, the Crown Prosecution Service of England and Wales, and the UK National Crime Agency formalized the partnership through a new Memorandum of Understanding between the Scam Center Strike Force and its British counterparts. Officials stated that the agreement marks the first international cooperation framework specifically focused on disrupting scam facilities involved in cryptocurrency fraud and cyber-enabled investment schemes.

Data cited in the report indicates that these illicit networks collectively cost American victims an estimated $10 billion each year. Under the terms of the new agreement, authorities from both nations will conduct parallel investigations into shared targets, exchange intelligence regarding organized crime groups, and coordinate on jurisdictional prosecution strategies.

The Scam Center Strike Force was initially launched in November 2025 to address the proliferation of organized crime networks operating fraudulent compounds, primarily across Southeast Asia. The task force focuses heavily on cryptocurrency investment scams, cyber-enabled fraud, human trafficking, and money laundering operations that generate billions in illicit proceeds at the expense of retail participants.
